This Rule set national standards for the protection of individually identifiable health information by three types of covered entities: health plans, health care clearinghouses, and health care providers who conduct the standard health care transactions. This course provides you with additional information to assist you in learning more about the HIPAA Rule and understanding your roles and responsibilities as a researcher when you have access of patient’s/subject’s PHI.
